Proper first charging ensures battery health and maximum runtime.
Follow this guide exactly – a correct first charge helps your battery last longer and perform better over time.
What you'll need
- The battery
- The included charging cable and chargers with a charging power of 65W or higher
- A standard wall outlet (100–240V, works worldwide)
- About 1 hour of uninterrupted charging time (for first charge)
Step 1: Know your charging options
Depending on your model, you can charge with the battery inside the exosuit or remove the battery and charge it separately.
Step 2: Connect the charger correctly
2.1 Check the charger before plugging in
Inspect the charger brick and cable for any visible damage (cuts, kinks, bent prongs).
2.2 Plug into the exosuit or battery
Locate the charging port (usually covered by a small rubber flap – pull it open gently).
Insert the charger plug firmly until it clicks or seats fully.
Do not force it.
2.3 Plug into the wall outlet
Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
Step 3: Understand the charging LED indicators
Once plugged in, look at the LED light on the battery or near the charging port.
- Touch the button, and the indicator lights will show the remaining battery level.
- Press and hold the button for two seconds. The indicator light will flash twice, and the battery will switch to power bank mode.
Step 4: First charge – recommended duration
Standard recommendation
Charge for at least 1 hour, or until the indicator lights are all on – whichever is longer.
Why the first charge matters
- Lithium‑ion batteries ship with approximately 30–50% charge for safety.
- A full first charge helps the battery management system (BMS) calibrate itself.
- This leads to more accurate battery level readings and better long‑term cycle life.
⚠️ Do not:
Unplug after only 30 minutes and assume it's enough (you'll get very short runtime)
Leave it plugged in for 3+ days (modern chargers prevent overcharging, but it's still best practice to unplug once indicator lights are all on)
Step 5: Can I use the exosuit while charging?
No – not while the charging cable is connected.
- The motors and sensors are disabled during charging for safety.
- The exosuit will not power on or respond while plugged in.
- This prevents accidental movement and protects the charging circuitry.
After charging: Unplug the cable, then power on normally.
