Before you power on or wear your exosuit for the first time, follow this 3‑step checklist.
It helps you spot shipping damage early, confirms the device is safe to use, and ensures you start correctly in Ease mode (green LED).
What you'll need
- A well‑lit, flat surface (table or floor)
- Your phone camera (to document anything unusual – just in case)
- About 5 minutes
Step 1: Inspect the exterior for cosmetic or shipping damage
Remove the exosuit from its box and shipping foam. Check the following areas carefully:
Frame & hard shells
- Look for cracks, chips, or deep scratches on all plastic shells and metal frame parts.
- Check the joint areas (hip, knee, ankle hinges) – they should move smoothly without grinding or sticking.
- Inspect all screws and fasteners – nothing should be loose or missing.
Straps & pads
- Straps should be fully intact, no fraying or torn stitching.
- Velcro strips should grab firmly when pressed together.
- Pads (foam or gel) should have no permanent dents, tears, or exposed adhesive.
Cables & connectors (if any visible)
- No pinched, cut, or exposed wires.
- Connectors should click in securely without forcing.
Charger & battery
- Charger brick: no cracks, no bent prongs.
- Charging cable: no kinks, cuts, or exposed copper.
- Battery (if removable): check for swelling, dents, or leakage.
If the battery looks swollen or damaged, do NOT use it – contact support immediately.
📸 Pro tip: If you find any damage, stop here. Take clear photos (overall + close‑up) and contact customer support with your order number. Do not proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Power on & understand the LED indicator
This step explains how to power on correctly and how the device decides which light to show.
2.1 Connect the battery (if removable)
- Insert the battery until you hear/feel a click.
- If the battery is completely empty, charge for at least 5–10 minutes before attempting to power on.
2.2 Power on correctly
- Press and hold the power button until the white LED turns fully on, then release.
- You may feel a short vibration.
⚠️ Do not release the button early – if you only see a blinking or dim light, repeat the press‑and‑hold until white is steady.
2.3 What happens next (wear‑detection logic)
After power‑on, the device automatically checks whether it is being worn on your body.
✅ If you are wearing the exosuit (properly fitted)
- The LED will turn 🟢 SOLID GREEN.
- The device enters Ease mode – the default mode for first‑time walking practice.
- All motors and sensors become active. You are ready to walk.
❌ If you are NOT wearing the exosuit (resting on a table or floor)
- The LED will turn 🟡 SOLID YELLOW.
- The device will NOT run or move – this is normal and by design.
- No action is needed. Simply power off your exoskeleton and put on the exosuit, then power on.
Step 3: Quick no‑load function test (optional, if you haven't worn it yet)
If you want to test movement without wearing the exosuit, remember:
- With yellow LED (not worn), the motors will not engage – this is normal.
- You can still gently move the joints by hand to check for grinding or sticking.
- To fully test motor function, you must put on the exosuit until it turns green.
Do not force the joints when the device is in yellow mode – the motors are idle but may still resist if moved too quickly.
